Greetings from the East
Tidings from the East Brethren,
This month brings us lots of activity including the opportunity to celebrate the 50th year of Freemasonry for Brother William M. Matthews raised in Unity Lodge #18 on May 28, 1969. We will present him with his 50yr pin at our May 1st business meeting therefore, we will be opening on the EA Degree so all can attend. We will also be balloting on two petitions read in our last meeting. I hope you can make it out to recognize Brother Matthews and to cast your ballot on the future of the Lodge. The ballot, of course, may create the potential for an EA Degree ceremony. If indeed we elect, we will confer that degree on the following Wednesday, 8 May at 7pm. We will continue to exercise our floor team for the MM degree. Stay tuned for an announcement of an MM Degree date.
The Grand Lodge will hold their Regional Leadership conference and visitation on Saturday the 4th of May at the Ogden Masonic Temple. The conference will begin at 0900 with a catered lunch at noon (for a small fee) followed by the official visitation at 1pm. (RSVP for lunch is required). The day is open to EAs, FCs and MMs.
WB James Stolhand, District Deputy Grand Lecturer, will be holding a ritual conference at Harmony Lodge #21 in Logan UT on the 18th of May from 9am-12pm with a joint MM Degree to follow. The purpose of this work is to cover GL code, lectures, and memorization as well as Lodge traditions. This will be a great opportunity to answer questions that have come up around the entire jurisdiction and share ideas or practices from other Lodges that may enhance the ritual. Please RSVP to our Brother Secretary by 15 May.
