Personal Growth
Freemasonry uses symbolism (tools, architecture, allegory) to teach lessons about:
- Integrity
- Discipline
- Humility
- Purpose
It’s not about memorizing facts—it’s about working on yourself, much like a lifelong moral and spiritual education.
Brotherhood
At its core, it creates a bond between men from different backgrounds who might never otherwise connect.
You sit “on the level”—meaning:
- No one’s job, wealth, or status matters inside the lodge.
- You support each other as equals.
For many, this brotherhood becomes one of the most meaningful parts of life.
The Deeper "Why"
If you strip everything else away, the real reason is this:
To take ordinary men and help them build a life of character, purpose, and connection.
From the WestMichael L, P.M. - Senior Warden
May is upon us, flowers are blooming, and hopefully Winter is done. We have a lot of work coming up before the Summer break. Whatever comes around in the next couple of months, I’m sure that Unity can handle it. Take care of yourselves and your families. We’ll see you in Lodge.
From the SouthMario C, Junior Warden
Life has a way of keeping all of us moving at a relentless pace. Between work, family, and our many responsibilities, it can feel like there is little time left to pause and reflect. That is why I have come to truly appreciate the steady, calming rhythm of our lodge business meetings. They offer a rare moment to slow down, center ourselves, and reconnect—not just with the work of the Craft, but with each other. Seeing each of you and sharing in that fellowship is something I genuinely look forward to each month.
As we continue through this busy season, I also want to remind everyone that our annual Grand Lodge Visitation is coming up on 27 May. This is an important event for our lodge, and I encourage all who are able to attend.
Please also remember to make your dinner reservations with the Lodge Secretary in advance so we can ensure everything runs smoothly that evening.
I look forward to seeing you all in lodge soon.
